| Making the Most of Your Chamber Membership
Are you taking advantage of the many benefits/services of your Chamber membership? As we gear up for 2006, now is the time for business strategic plans to be implemented. Let us help you…we are in business for your business.
• Membership List: Upon request, a list of Chamber members is provided whereby you can be in direct contact with the top person of 900+ businesses. Upon request, self-adhesive membership labels can be provided, printed with every member's name and address for a fee of $50.00 for the packet. This is an excellent resource for your direct mailings.
• Committees: Serve on a committee(s) of your Chamber. Ten committees carry out special events, focus on economic development, monitor legislative activity, and assist in the marketing of new and existing businesses. Committee lists are available upon request at the Chamber office.
• Brochure Display Racks: Our Chamber office provides display racks(both at our main office and the visitors center at Osage Beach City Hall ), whereby members' brochures can be displayed for visitors and those people relocating or starting new businesses.
• Ribbon Cutting: Upon request, our Chamber Ambassadors conduct ground breaking/ribbon cutting ceremonies for new, expanding or moving businesses. Your business receives FREE publicity in local newspapers.
• Socials: Eleven socials a year are held on the third Wednesday of each month in various locations in the Chamber area, with a cash bar and complimentary hors d'oeuvres from 5:00 to 7:00 PM . The October dinner is the annual business meeting of the Chamber. Since networking is a vital part of your business plan, you are encouraged to exchange business cards and ideas at the socials. This is an ideal way to get to know members and share with them information about you and your business.
• Website: Free listing on www.lakeareachamber.com with visitor and resident traffic. Plus, link your page or have a chamber page created for a nominal fee.
• Newsletter: Our monthly newsletter, which is sent to every member of the Lake Area Chamber of Commerce, is our main written communication with our membership. Business card ads and inserts are available to Chamber members. Special event may be publicized on the calendar in the newsletter.
• Referrals: The prime responsibility of your Chamber is providing direct reference service for member businesses. ONLY Chamber members are referred by our office. Accommodations are encouraged to call in vacancies to our office daily so our Vacancy List can be constantly updated.
• Entertainment, Dining & Service Guide - As a Chamber member, you will receive a free listing in this Chamber handbook. Every Chamber member is listed and many take advantage of the display ads and extra, bold or tag line listings.
• Demographic profile: The Chamber has developed this booklet to promote the business and industrial development of the area. A complete profile consisting of 65 pages outlining economic issues, education, financial, food and health services, history, lodging, demographics, public and social service, transportation, utilities, permits and licenses can be obtained as a chamber member for a fee of $30.00. The demographic profile is a helpful tool the Chamber has available for prospective members, new residents, business development and expansion.
• Visitor & Relocation packets: The Chamber sends approximately 12,000 packets per year to people requesting vacation information and approximately 500 packets per year to people requesting relocation and demographic information. Any Chamber member can participate in the packets for $0.18 cents per brochure, priority mail. Relocation mailing costs varies by the weight of the member brochure.
• Gateways Mailing : As a chamber members we can make your brochure and business information available throughout the state of Missouri in the Missouri Welcome Centers and military bases. This program helps to promote the Lake of the Ozarks and enhance our presence in seven locations considered the gateways to our midwest location, that definitely can be considered direct leads of those interested in vacationing, business or relocation. The cost to participate is $100.00 yearly. (Welcome Centers do not allow real estate information material to be distributed)
